Client Apps, Software, Websites, etc.

Here is a brief explanation of the various apps, websites, and other tools that you might come across as a client of Teacher Wealth.

Elements

Phone app

This is where I hope clients spend most of their time and energy.

You can find your net worth details here as well as a financial scorecard used to monitor different aspects of your finances.

This is what I request people to update when I send reminders via text messages.

At a minimum, I request that clients confront their finances at least once per quarter.

This doesn't have to be time-consuming.  Just update the app, take a look at the scorecard, and if questions arise, make a note or reach out to me to discuss.

Literally, this could mean 10 minutes per quarter.

Time and energy can be decreased even more by linking accounts to the Elements app so they update automatically.

Betterment

Only for those who have assets managed by Teacher Wealth.

This is Teacher Wealth's custodian where investment/retirement accounts are held.

You can find monthly statements, portfolio holdings, tax documents, and account rates of return on this platform.

You might log in to Betterment to update beneficiaries, link a bank account to an investment account, or check monthly statements.

This has a separate login from Elements.

Teacher Wealth Insider

This is the educational platform I recently launched for Iowa teachers.

Ongoing financial planning clients are automatically enrolled.

Expect weekly emails with education resources, assessments, suggested actions to take, thoughts on financial news, checklists and guides, and much more.

There is also a Teacher Wealth Insider website where you can log in and view videos, articles, and other content directed toward the Iowa teacher.

If you don't find this content valuable you can just ignore the emails and never login to the website, but my hope is that this will be an added value to my ongoing clients as much as it is to those who sign up for the Insider membership as a stand-alone service.

Advice Pay

For those who pay an out-of-pocket fee, this is the 3rd party that I use for billing and invoicing.

For everyone else, you might see this when I send you something to e-sign a document.

Teacher Wealth Portal

This is my financial planning software that has a "client portal" for each of my clients with a separate login.

This platform comes with a client vault, which is where I had people safely send documents back and forth before I implemented SendSafely for this purpose.

Before I implemented Elements for my firm, this is where you may go to check on your net worth or other financial metrics.

This may or may not be updated on an ongoing basis because I focus on Elements for most financial monitoring.

I do still use this for background planning analysis from time to time.  Usually at specific stages in life (i.e. retirement) or if more detailed analysis is needed.

There really isn't a reason for most clients to log in to this unless they have used some of the features in the past and would like to continue to use them.

I think Elements is much more suited for client monitoring and engagement.  Which is why I implemented the phone app.

SendSafely

A way to safely send me tax returns each year and other financial documents when needed.  Documents are sent encrypted.

I can also use this to send you encrypted documents if needed.

This is the preferred method to send me things.

You can always find the link to send me something at the end of my signature line - see below:  "Need to send me something sensitive?  Click here"
